Pre Qualified Contractors

Public works. As part of the Queensland governments tough new stance on construction safety all pre-qualified contractors must be audited by an accredited auditor to ensure they have a safety management system in place.

Under the PQC System, contractors must be appropriately pre-qualified and registered to be eligible for invitation to tender on government building projects estimated to exceed $250,000 in value.

The audit consists of a number of stages including initial /document review, review of construction plans, and on site inspections. Accredited auditors have strict reporting arrangements and deadlines and are required to issue non conformance notices where high risk activities are identified.

Keith Pitt is one of the few auditors providing this service throughout rural Queensland and is fully accredited with the Department of Industrial Relations.
